Great for long time lapse video (some manage to do a 12-hour footage) The Setbacks: No more waterproofing capabilities (wall chargers & portable batteries are not waterproof) Without the battery in the device, it can shut down if the external power goes off; Your gear won’t really “charge” while recording, but you can use it nonethelessSince these speeds and intervals can be changed, a time-lapse video shot with a GoPro that lasts 30 seconds can cover as little as 1 minute or as much as 15 hours. Time-lapse videos are an effective means of portraying both scenes that change quickly like a crosswalk during rush hour and ones where you want to capture the passage of time like Hello everyone. I have had my gopro for a while. And I'm starting to dip my toe into time lapse. How long does the battery usually last from 100% I'm looking at 5 sec shots. And I'm just trying to get the most use out of it. So I can do a decent video with it. Cut your wires. Cut the black box off the dummy battery if you're using an AC adapter. Strip the insulation off the last 1/4 of each wire. I used butt splices to hold the wires together, but a wire nut will also work- but might take up more room inside the case. I want to use my GoPro 8 to make a timelapse of a construction site. The building process will take 2 months. If I were to take a picture -let's say- every 15 minutes, how long will the battery last? I don't have access to power supply unfortunately the camera will be rigged with a cherry picker so I cannot manually change battery/power bank Use an external power bank. Have done this countless times for overnight Timelapses. I’ve left the battery in at times. It doesn’t make any difference to be honest. Think about the new GoPro accessory, the Volta - it’s basically charging the battery from an external powerpack.
Voice command. Sound (the beeps that the GoPro makes, not recording sound) Stabilization (This is a big power sucker. Unless you need it, I’d recommend turning it off.) Wifi. LEDs. Protune. Tip #2: Keep this setting on. Auto Power Off (I set mine at five minutes)
During this, I learned that the GoPro battery will last for about 4/5 hours in timelapse (it generally lasts just over an hour in normal use on my bike). Snow Showers My first GoPro nightlapse experiments were initially conducted with the GoPro mounted on a clamp outside my bathroom window, which has a nice North view over the surrounding fields.
Then go to the construction timelapse qr page and enter 108 pictures per day, and have the camera scan the QR code, then plug in the camera to the wall outlet and let it record. The GoPro will shoot as long as it has power from the wall outlet (make sure to remove the battery). 2700 frames fit in a 64GB card.
